Sky TV To Introduce Ads Channel

Clive Danton - Jan. 2015

Sky Television plan to launch a channel solely dedicated to screening commercials it was announced last night. The Rupert Murdoch owned franchise are expected to make up to 15 million pounds per anum when the subscription only channel is launched in January 2015. The proposed new channel will be seen by some as a cynical exercise in profiteering and a further demand on the finances of viewers already paying for a number of subsidiary sports channels, including Sky F1, Sky Ashes Cricket and Sky Darts

A spokesman for the company defended the move last night ...

"We see this new channel as another string to our bow and a furthering of our pledge to offer a wide range of programming for anyone who's got enough money to pay us for it. Sky Ads will hopefully become required viewing for subscribers who want to go out into the kitchen to make a cup of tea, grab a bite to eat or go for a shit"
